There are also options available to reduce the transmit path size and noise. Integrating the high voltage pulser reduces the size of the transmit path with smaller and fewer components. Including features such as an active damping into the architecture prevents the insertion of noise in the system. As can be seen in the graphs on this slide, the outputs of the transmit path are high-voltage, positive and negative symmetrical pulses which are preceded and followed by 0 V. Active damping is the ability of the signal to return to 0 V. This is critical to reduce the ringing induced in the system by the pulser.
