Another advantage of the constant on-time is the lightning-fast transient response because there is no error amplifier and an almost immediate response of the comparator. Furthermore, because there is no error amplifier there is no loop compensation required either, which is normally a headache to design for switching buck regulators. Also, because the constant on-time is fundamentally a comparator and a one-shot timer it is inherently simple to design with.
