Shown on this slide and the next slide is the MSP430 technology roadmap for medical devices, divided into two parts. The four gray bubbles towards the bottom of the slide are the TI SoC or system-on-chip device families; the FG42x0, FG43x, FG47x and the FG461x. These parts have a high degree of analog integration; quality analog modules that are integrated, such as 16-bit A/D converters, 12-bit D/A converters, up to three op-amps, a comparator, and a temperature sensor. Additionally, an LCD controller is included on all of these devices. These are designed as a group of self-contained systems that a medical device designer can use with a minimal number of external components. There are also low cost devices that are being developed for cost sensitive medical products.
