In summary, the Concerto F28M35x MCU offers a number of methods for inter processor communication built into the silicon of the device. There are up to eight blocks of configurable shared SARAM as well as dedicated message SARAM that may be used for communications. Additionally, there are message registers and interrupts and flags available for messages of varying degrees of importance and complexity. Finally, IPC is capable via serial loopback through UART to SCI as well as SSI to SPI. Please continue on to part two of this topic to get an overview of the IPC software options.
