The final benefit to be included in this presentation of the many LM3466 benefits is its flexibility. Not only does it operate over a wide input range and support currents up to 1.5A, it also enables easily scalable lighting platforms. To change the current through each LED string, only very minor circuit modifications are required since there are only two components that could be adjusted. To add or remove LED strings, a lighting designer simply needs to add or remove an LM3466 circuit. The designer could add any number of strings by just adding one LM3466, one resistor, and one capacitor for each additional string.  And since each LM3466 communicates with the others, the current is just balanced between the extra strings.  With one LM3466 design, a lighting designer could easily and simply create power supplies for many different fixture configurations or platforms.
