The I²C Buffers and Repeaters can provide I²C bus expansion and can successfully extend the line capacitance to greater than the 400 pF capacitance limit that is dictated by the standard I²C protocol. This is done without any degradation of system performance. In addition to this, since all I²C devices require a unique I²C address, address conflicts can arise. Through the use of a buffer or repeater, this issue can be resolved.
