Circuit Isolation Techniques Slide 7

This slide is a illustration of the benefit of isolation. The supply rails of VCC1 float with respect to those of VCC2. The offset would impact the transmission, if the receiver is unable to reject the common mode noise/frequency. Galvanic isolation makes the input, which is referenced to GND1, independent from GND2, which significantly enhances the common mode rejection.
