Tyco Electronics offers copper cable assemblies for pluggable I/O interfaces.  These cable assemblies are a cost-effective solution for short reach applications where an optical link is not required.  The plug assembly is directly attached to the cable, which eliminates the need for a separate transceiver.  Options include unequalized, partially equalized or fully equalized passive cables as well as active copper cables.  A broad selection of cable lengths and wire gauges are available to help resolve cable management challenges (cable mass, air flow, etc).   Tyco Electronics also offers direct engineering support to optimize cable performance for a given system architecture.
