Standard AMPLIMITE D-sub connectors are available in straight posted, right angle posted and cable connector types. Retention hardware for securing mated connectors is also available in this series. Straight posted connectors come in both HD-20 and HD-22 series. HD-20 connectors are offered in all plastic, front metal and metal shell housing styles, while HD-22 connectors are available in the front metal style only. Solder tails are commonly available with a length of 0.125” and optional integral board locks secure the solder tail connector in place prior to soldering. Additional solder-tail lengths may be available for specific applications upon request. Compliant pin contacts are available on HD-20 connectors, with 0.177” or 0.228” tail lengths. Right angle posted connectors come in both HD-20 and HD-22 series. HD-20 connectors are offered in all plastic, front metal and metal shell housing styles, while HD-22 connectors are available only in the front metal style. HD-20 connectors are available in several foot print sizes. The 0.318” footprint is the most commonly used size because it consumes the least amount of space on the PCB. Additionally, HD-22 connectors are available with a 0.350” footprint only. Right angle posted connectors utilize a solder tail termination style. The most commonly used tail length of 0.125” meets most application requirements. Other options include grounding indents that improve electrical conductivity between metal housings; integral board locks that secure connectors to the PCB prior to soldering; and stacked connectors that have two housings stacked vertically in order to reduce the PCB space normally consumed by individual connectors. TE Connectivity offers a wide range of standard AMPLIMITE D-sub cable connectors to meet a variety of application requirements. Housing style options include both ‘all plastic’ and ‘metal shell’ for HD-20 connectors and metal shell for HD-22. All plastic connectors are available with cost-effective insulation displacement contacts (IDC) for ribbon cable and discrete wire applications. Metal shell connectors are offered in several contact termination styles including crimp snap-in, solder cup snap-in, solder cup preloaded, IDC for ribbon cable and IDC for discrete wire. Additional hardware is available for AMPLIMITE D-sub connectors including shielded and unshielded cable clamps. Numerous accessories are available to protect, shield, and securely mate standard AMPLIMITE connectors.
