Fig.4 shows the signal wave with a 120 Ω bead made up of “B” and “Y” materials. This figure illustrates that the output signals are different depending on the ferrite material and signal frequency. For example, the “B” material is suitable for damping ringing at the rise/fall of the signals since its’ loss is very high at low frequencies. However, some delay is created (compared with the other materials) with high speed signaling since the “B” material has a higher inductance. These waves are also changed by the impedance on transmission lines of the circuit. The output signals may be degraded if the user selects an unsuitable material or impedance value.
