STM32 F0 Series Entry-Level Cortex-M0 32-bit MCUs Slide 15
The STM32 F0 embeds hardware support for the consumer electronics control protocol included in the HDMI standard, thereby simplifying CEC implementation in products such as TV, Blu-ray players, and home cinema equipment. Implementing CEC in hardware also frees the processor core to perform extra high-level functions, adding further value to applications. The CEC kernel can be independently clocked by a low-speed 32 kHz external clock or internal 8 MHz clock further reducing system cost and allowing flexible wake-up and synchronization. There are also two timers supported by remote-control decoder encoder firmware libraries which simplify implementation of infrared communication protocols. The dual supply voltage being down to 1.8 V provides easy interfacing to application processors, keeping on-chip analog block peripherals at 3.6 V full excursion. The STM32 F0 capacitive touch-sensing IP releases the CPU load that supports the charge transfer method to provide up to eighteen keys and a slider or wheel. The STM32 F0 further extends the STM32 portfolio, addressing applications previously served by 8-bit MCUs, while taking advantage of the STM32® DNA with a complete portfolio, full manufacturing commitment, and low-budget price.
