Absolute Positioning

As an example of absolute positioning, the motor was left at a position five full rotations forward from the home or zero position. If the user commands the L6470 to move to the motor to position 12,800, which corresponds to one half rotation forward from zero, the device will determine that the shortest distance is to move in the reverse direction and then move the motor in the reverse direction 4½ rotations.
