The temperature characteristics are shown in this slide. As users can see, the polymer cap shown with the red line has stable performance at low temperatures while the traditional electrolytic will begin to have self heating and ESR rise. The bottom left image shows a comparison for output noise. As can be seen on this slide, there is a significant amount of filtering with the polymer. Noise reduction of 1/8 that of conventional wet type is realized. While operating temperatures of -40°C are not common, it can be expected for high altitude applications or in regions of high latitude. Stability at such temperatures is critical for lighting, outdoor base stations and transportation applications operating in such regions.
