Non-linearity is a measure of how much a device output differs from the ideal behavior over the full sensor range and is measured as a percentage of maximum deviation to full scale.  It is important to know how non-linear a device is so that one can account for and reduce error in the overall system. Kionix accelerometers have low non-linearity at less than 1% of full scale.
