Zero-g offset is a measure of the output when no acceleration is present and is closely related to the sensor bias error. It is important to know the zero-g offset so that one can design their application to work properly in the presence of this error. It is also useful as a measure of accuracy when comparing sensor elements. Ideally the zero-g offset is zero, but in practice as seen in the table below it is in the mg range.
