In summary, this module looked at the basic operation of the RX 12-bit ADC, including describing the basic block diagram operation and single scan and continuous scan mode operations. It also looked at how the Channel Select Register is used to enable or disable individual ADC channels, which is different than many of the Renesas ADC blocks, including the 10-bit ADC block. The converted Value Addition Mode allows one to sample channels consecutively up to four times and then sum the results automatically. The RX63N internal reference voltage and temperature sensor interface to the ADC were also described. Finally the ability to generate interrupts or trigger DMAC or DTC transfers was described along with the precaution to disable the ADC prior to entering low power mode.
