The left-hand side of this slide shows the mainstream RL78 MCU motor control offering: RL78/G1G, G1F, and G14. RL78/G1F is functionally upward-compatible with the RL78/G14 and has enhanced analog functionality. This block diagram highlights the RL78/G1F. A few of the highlights in the G1F MCU are; G1F is equipped with a built-in high slew rate PGA (3.0V/μs or higher), high-speed multi-function comparator reaction time at typically 0.07μs, a A/D and D/A converters. The G1F realizes efficient initial rotor position detection and high-speed rotation using 120° conducting control by sensorless BLDC motor control. The RL78/G1F can perform high-speed overcurrent detection and output cutoff without CPU intervention, so highly flexible motor control can be realized with a small number of parts.
