There are three main competitors for the low pin count MCU. The RL78/G11 series, which has similar specs with the G1F, surpasses the competitors in the run and stop mode. This is made possible with Renesas’ MF3 silicon process at 130nm offering low power consumption of 0.25µA in standby/STOP mode meaning STOP mode with no clocks, but RAM contents are retained, while still attaining as low as 46µA/MHz running NOP instructions average operating current in CPU RUN mode. With this technology, Renesas is able to produce highly efficient power consumption products and provide higher performance as compared to other competitors. This advantage will enable customers to build better energy savings products.
