The LPC54100 series MCUs offers single and dual core options. In the single core option, there is one ARM Cortex-M4 core with FPU and in the dual core option, there are Cortex-M0+ and Cortex-M4 with FPU. In both cases, both cores can run at maximum speed of 100 MHz. The Cortex-M0+ is designed to consume only 55 µA/MHz in active mode, while the Cortex-M4F consumes 100 µA/MHz. With this active current consumption profile, you can partition the software between the two cores to maximize the power saving without sacrificing the performance. These MCUs consume only 3 µA in “sensor listening” mode, where the MCU is in Power Down mode with 8 KB of RAM retained and wakeup from select sources are enabled. The on-chip analog to digital converter offers full 4.8 Msps (Mega samples per second) speed across entire operating voltage range of 1.62 to 3.6 V. There are two flash memory variants in this series – 256 KB and 512 KB flash with both variants containing a total of 104 KB of on-chip RAM. In addition, these MCUs have several clocks, timers and serial interfaces. These MCUs come in as small as 3.28 x 3.28 mm wafer level chip scale package.
