LPC1700 Microcontroller Slide 41
The LPC1700 is equipped with a Motor Control PWM (MCPWM) block that is optimized for three-phase AC and DC motor control applications, but can be used in many other applications that need timing, counting, capture, and comparison. The MCPWM contains three independent channels, each including: a 32-bit Timer/Counter (TC), 32-bit Limit register (LIM), 32-bit Match register (MAT), 10-bit Dead-Time register (DT) and an associated 10-bit dead-time counter, 32-bit capture register (CAP), two modulated outputs (MCOA and MCOB) with opposite polarities, a period interrupt, pulse-width interrupt, and a capture interrupt. The three PWM (match) outputs have opposite polarities and can be edge or center aligned. Programmable dead-band insertion can also be included. Feedback inputs are provided to automatically sense rotor position and use that information to ramp speed up or down. An abort input is also provided that causes the PWM to immediately release all motor drive outputs.
