The EMC supports RAM, ROM, Flash, burst ROM, and some external I/O devices. The EMC mainly covers static devices. At this time, the EMC does not address dynamic RAM or any of those types of devices. Independent configurations are available, up to 16 MB each on four banks. There are from one to 16 programmable idle cycles. There are also up to 32 programmable read and write WAIT states, programmable initial and subsequent burst read WAIT states for burst ROM devices, programmable write protection, and programmable external data--either 8, 16, or 32 bits.
