The Hyperlight Load device also offers the HyperSpeed Control which provides very fast transient response. This feature minimizes the output voltage ripple during any load changes which allow for customers to use very small and inexpensive output ceramic capacitors reducing the cost and size of the DC/DC converter solution. In the example shown here, there is a 12V input voltage with a 1.8V output voltage. A 1 micro second 250mA load step is enabled to test the response time of the controller. There is a small 44mV dip that is caused by the load current step that quickly settles back to 1.8V. Similarly, when the 250mA is disabled in 552 nanoseconds, there is a small overshoot of 42mV on the output voltage that settles back to 1.8V.
