The I²C module has an additional address masking feature. This new feature allows the module to respond to a range of slave addresses rather than just one slave address. There is a new 10-bit register called I2CAMSK. If a bit within this register is set to one, then the module will ignore the slave address bit associated with the mask bit. For example, if 2-bits are set within the mask register, then 4 slave addresses will be valid.
