Another development system that supports the dsPIC33F and dsPIC33E motor control device family is the MCHV-2 Development System. This system enables rapid development of a wide variety of high voltage motor control applications using a dsPIC digital signal controller (DSC), including brushless DC (BLDC) motors, permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM), and AC induction motors (ACIM), with sensor or sensorless operation. The MCHV-2 outputs up to 1000W at 400V from an 85-285VAC input and has integrated power factor correction circuitry to meet power regulatory requirements. With the MCHV-2 either internal on-chip op-amps found on certain dsPIC devices or the external op-amps on the MCHV-2 board can be used. The MCHV-2 is fully backwards compatible with the original MCHV and all motor control PIMs.
