The dsPIC33EP family of digital signal controllers features a 70 MIPS dsPIC DSC core with integrated DSP for high speed execution of motor control algorithms. This family also comes with advanced peripherals such as six motor control PWM outputs and a charge time measurement unit for temperature and touch sensing. New on-chip peripherals, such as integrated op-amps, reduce board space and the need for external components. The op-amps can be used in a variety of sensing applications where signal amplification is required. These devices are code compatible with Microchip’s existing dsPIC33F products, providing a migration path from 40 to 70 MIPS. Pin and feature compatible devices are also included in the dsPIC33EP family, ranging from 32-256kB of Flash memory, enabling designers to easily migrate within the family.
