Product List
The previous slide was a traditional and simple digital input design. What if a user wanted to add more features? A current limiter is helpful in lowering the heat dissipation over the resistor dividers, but multi-channel current limiters are not available or difficult to find. To reduce the isolator count, a serializer can be incorporated, but most serializers are catered to gigabit EtherNet applications, which are expensive and have high performance that is not needed. Temperature and voltage supply monitoring are other features that customers expect. All of these additions will incur more cost, larger BOM, chance of product mixture, as well as contributing to additional heat dissipation. Fortunately, Analog Devices offers a family of digital input devices that address these issues.
