Looking at several of the output characteristics of the device, with an integrated module the concern is always the low inductance and high output voltage ripple. In the case of the ISL8203M, this can be considered a non-factor, having only an 8mVpp ripple with a 1V output. This equates to ±0.4% which is below the limit for a microcontroller and any analog rails it would power. Low ripple currents increases the reliability of the power supply and provides a cleaner DC voltage output to the point-of-load device. High ripple currents can seriously over stress the output capacitors of the power supply and precipitate an early failure.
