HYPERRAM™ devices fit consumer and industrial applications. On the left is an example of HYPERRAM being implemented in a smart home device as an HMI interface for rendering graphics and on the right is an FPGA-based industrial machine vision application. FPGA systems are widely used in these systems due to ease of prototyping and upgradability. However, the FPGAs often run out of internal resources for RAM. Using a DRAM will result in complex routing and excessive resource utilization in the FPGA and usage of far more I/O pins. HYPERRAM overcomes these challenges with its low-pin-count and relatively simpler interface, serving as an ideal expansion memory solution.
