As noted in the matrix shown here, the standalone transceiver product series offers a low-end device for low cost 2.4GHz proprietary applications as well as an IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee compliant high-end device. The lower-end devices support point-to-point and star networks while the higher-end devices add the value of mesh and cluster-tree network capability. The low-end options work well with the SMAC while the higher-end solutions best support the IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee compliant stacks. The transfer mode for the MC13191 and MC13201 is packet transfer, while the MC13192 and MC13202 support packet and streaming modes. Throughput for all solutions is 250Kbps with O-QPSK modulation and the direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) energy spreading scheme. Sensitivity is slightly higher for the MC13192 and MC13202. The MCU interface, power output, operating temperature, and package remains the same for all four devices.
