While a capacitor can be selected with the four basic parameters and additional information discussed on the previous slide there are some additional parameters that should be considered to help optimize and provide a long lasting solution. The additional criteria is DC resistance drops due to initial current pulse, Life/aging due to temperature and time, Initial tolerance, Series/Parallel configurations, and active or passive balance leakage currents. The criteria listed will help to account for real life conditions and aid in selecting a supercapacitor that is optimized for the particular application.
