Version 5 of the EU’s Code of Conduct on Energy Efficiency of External Power Supplies defines Tier 2 requirements that exceed the DoE Level VI standards and CoC Tier 1 standards in a number of areas. CoC Tier 2 also tightens the no-load power consumption requirements for key classes of power adaptors, i.e. at output powers ≤49W and 49W < POUT ≤ 250W. The 10% load measure introduced with Tier 1 is further tightened as well.
