Available in a wide range of sizes, operating positions, and mounting styles, the navigation switch is operated by sliding the actuator. The pushbutton switch uses a button style actuator which is depressed to activate the switch. Pushbuttons are available in either a normally closed or normally open configuration, can have momentary or latching contacts, and come in a  wide variety of sizes, colors, illumination, and sealing options. In a rocker switch, the actuator rocks when pressed by the user, making either momentary contact or latching. It is commonly used to turn power on and off. To change the selection, the actuator of a rotary switch is turned either clockwise or counterclockwise. Rotary switches are typically used on devices that require multiple operating positions.
