Microchip provides a wide selection of software examples designed to reduce time to market. Most of these examples are provided in the Microchip AVR® Software Framework, a large library of free source code examples, including drivers, libraries and applications. The library is proven and widely used in many applications on the shelves today. The code in the AVR Software Framework consists of structured code with standard APIs that can easily be used as the basis for a project. Using this code can shave months of a development project compared to writing all libraries and communication drivers from scratch. Using complex protocols like USB and Wi-Fi allows the user to prototype design ideas much faster. There are examples with full documentation on how to use the different drivers, as well as wide range of reference applications. By not having to spend time on getting basic drivers and infrastructure in place, it is possible to focus on the application that makes the product unique.
