Microchip AVR® UC3 microcontrollers are built with Microchip picoPower® technology, which is the leading Microchip technology for low power consumption. The AVR UC3 L series is the lowest power Microchip 32-bit microcontroller, with consumption down to 165 µA/MHz in active mode, a 600 nA RTC and 9 nA shutdown mode. With picoPower technology, the power consumption is lower than most 8-bit microcontrollers, and is made possible without compromising CPU performance. The device offers true 1.6V operation. This means all analog features, including Flash programming and ADC, will operate as normal in the full voltage range from 3.6V down to 1.6V. In addition to low power consumption, the AVR UC3 microcontrollers offer a wide range of power-saving technologies such as dynamic frequency scaling to adjust operating frequency as performance demand changes over time, and sleepwalking peripherals that eliminate unnecessary CPU interrupts and wakeup cycles as the peripherals are able to make intelligent decisions themselves.
