The instruction set contains native support for single cycle DSP instructions, and unlike most 32-bit microcontrollers, offers full support for fixed-point arithmetic operations to boost arithmetic performance in a wide range of applications. Some AVR UC3 devices even include a full IEEE FPU. To speed up math calculations, the UC3 instructions support saturation and rounding, which eliminate lengthy boundary checks.
