As there is no mating connector on the board, care should be taken to follow the recommended PCB Layout and drill-hole specifications. Please note that violating this specification may cause deviations from the electrical and mechanical values. If the boreholes are too big, the contact normal force and holding force of the plastic pegs is not high enough to withstand mechanical stress and may cause signal interruptions higher than specified in the datasheet. Boreholes that are too small will result in breaking the plastic pegs and too much abrasion damage in the plated through-hole, and the contact resistance may become higher than specified. Because of the size of the SKEDD contacts, the creepage and clearance distances are reduced in comparison to soldering pins. To prevent voltage flashover, the restring size of 0.1mm has to be respected. Since SKEDD contacts are not soldered, a bigger restring is not necessary.
