The plastic housing consists of a bigger and smaller board guide. This sizing ensures correct mating and prevents errors in assembly in the form of reverse polarity. The housing material is LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer), a high-temperature-resistance plastic. LCP is known for good flowability, enabling the production of precise molded parts with low wall thickness. Chemical resistance and low thermal expansion are also characteristics of LCP. Two small friction locks on each plastic board guide act as a passive locking system. This system allows for a tool-free termination that self-locks upon insertion, and will maintain connection until disconnected by hand.
