Light-pipes, also called light tubes or light guides, are engineered optical products designed to carry light from point A, also known as the source, to point B or exit.  Lightpipes are usually clear in color and cylindrical in shape, with a focusing lens element on one end.  Widely used for a great range of industrial applications such as visible light transmission, sterilization equipment light transmission, medical imaging applications, industrial control panel status indication, residential/commercial illumination control, infrared imaging and sensing technologies.  They can be used to transmit visible light, infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths with high efficiency.
