The VY-Series product range not only meets the requirements of IEC 60384-14.3 with the rated voltage and dielectric strength called out by that specification, but also offers a capacitance range that extends to 4.7 nF for the VY1 series and to 10 nF for the VY2 series. If additional capacitance is needed beyond the indicated range, parallel combinations can be used to meet the requirement. Finally, the redesigned version of the VY1 Series, the VY1C, is able to withstand a 10 kV pulse, a requirement that is becoming increasingly common for X1 and Y1 applications.
