As was the case for all previously discussed models, Vishay is willing to show some flexibility in PTCEL software modeling. Here is an example where a traditional PSpice OrCAD EDA was used as the go-to software for corporations. Given the high value of resources dedicated to such an EDA, it was worth considering it for simulation. In fact, it was possible to successfully import the PTCEL models after some modifications. Once finished, this allowed all PSpice functionalities to be applied to them, including the performance analysis module and the automatic graph generation. The graph at the bottom of the slide shows the distribution of the time delay needed for reaching a defined voltage discharge of an initially-charged capacitor through a network of PTCEL thermistors. All this is included in a PSpice-specific Monte Carlo analysis.
