Outlined here is another simulation where a capacitor is repetitively charged through a PTCEL. If the designer includes the ambient temperature in the simulation parameters, it is possible to see its influences in the delay time for the PTC switching to a high resistance and temperature. This exemplifies how the ambient temperature influences the repetitive charging or discharging of a capacitor through a PTCEL to a defined voltage level. Principal arguments which are sometimes used by SPICE detractors are that the temperature behavior and the IC production tolerances are not properly considered; however, it is clear that the LTspice® PTCEL models bring a decisive counter-argument to these assertions.
