The Osprey is VersaLogic’s 3rd product in the Embedded Processing Unit “EPU” series. The Osprey was engineered and tested to meet the defense, avionic and medical industries’ evolving requirements for smaller, lighter, and more powerful embedded systems. Roughly the size of a credit card and slightly more than one inch thick, the Osprey is a highly-integrated embedded computer. It combines the 4th generation Intel® Atom™ “Bay Trail” processor, with system interfaces, in a form factor designed to withstand extreme temperature, impact, and vibration. The Osprey is ideal for embedded applications needing a small size embedded computer module designed for low power, reliability, and a long production life. In addition it comes equipped with multi-core processing options, numerous high-speed interconnects, as well as flexible expansion and storage options. The Osprey, like all VersaLogic products, is designed for a minimum production life of 5 years. Many of VersaLogic’s products are available for 10 or more years. There are structured programs available that can extend the product life to 15 or even 20 years! VersaLogic developed the Osprey relying on over 40 years of experience supplying embedded computer boards to industrial, medical, and defense customers. The following slides provide details of the Osprey capabilities.
