Just like the medical-grade isolation transformers, Tripp Lite’s medical-grade power strips are compliant and for use both inside and outside patient-care areas. Since they only distribute power from another source (either from a wall outlet or a UPS system or isolation transformer outlet) they are not required by UL to reduce leakage current. Although not specific to patient-care areas, select models carry additional compliance. Some are 60950-1 compliant, governing the use of electrical and IT-related equipment in medical environments. Other models are 1363a compliant, a basic standard required for all power strips that are integrated as components of a larger system (where they supply power to connected components of a movable equipment assembly that is rack-, table- or pedestal-mounted). Tripp Lite medical-grade power strips simply distribute power, either from a wall outlet or from the outlets of a UPS system or isolation transformer. They do not feature power protection. If an application requires battery backup, isolation, surge suppression, or line noise filtering, a Tripp Lite UPS system or isolation transformer is recommended instead. Tripp Lite medical-grade power strips feature all-metal housings that stand up to demanding healthcare environments. A switchless design on select models prevents accidental shutoff. Hospital-grade outlets and plug offer more secure connections. Models are available in 120 V input/output.
