Overview-Slide19

The checklist shown here highlights many of the benefits of the MSP430, many of which have already been discussed in previous slides. Other benefits not discussed earlier include very low port pin leakage when connected to external signals (<50nA compared to several µA for many other MCUs). Also, the overall MSP430 architecture, including a 16-bit CPU with 16 registers and 16-bit data and address buses, minimizes power-consuming fetches to memory and a fast vectored-interrupt structure reduces the need for wasteful CPU software flag polling.
