In summary, the TE 2108877-1 is an IP68 (immersion to 1.5m depth for minimum of 30 minutes) sealed µUSB2.0 connector, which protects against intrusion of water and particulate materials. It features a MIM shell which provides additional strength against plug wrenching due to the one piece, 3D molded structure. The MIM shell also  ensures the lowest overall height possible. A reinforcement plate prevents damage to the plastic tab which contains the contacts inside the connector. At the same time the plate protects against an electrical short circuit. The circular interface to main shell allows for integration of the connector into the user’s device, and screw mounting ears allow for easy integration and positioning in the final application.
