This diagram shows how simple it is to interface ST’s gyroscopes with a microcontroller. The MCU’s analog inputs can be directly connected to the dual-axis sensor without any external amplification. For each axis, an analog input is connected to either the sensor’s non-amplified or amplified output, or to both if more dynamic range is desired. The diagram also shows the external high-pass and low-pass filters. By referencing the high-pass filter signal to Vref and subtracting Vref from the measured signal, the user can completely eliminate the natural offset affecting sensor output, since Vref is considered the zero rate level condition.
