Reed Sensors vs Hall and Electromechanical Slide 27

Semiconductors, and therefore hall sensors, are very susceptible to EDI/RFI. Basically EDI is electronic discharge - typically static electricity. Static electricity can totally disable hall sensors. RFI is radio frequency interference and any burst of RF will disable the hall sensor as well. Both the reed sensor and electromechanical sensor are not susceptible to EDI/RFI.
