Reed Sensors vs Hall and Electromechanical Slide 13

Reed sensors draw zero current and use no power in their off-state. Hall sensors require current to be flowing to carry out the sensing function. This is because it is the interaction of the current flow with the magnetic field that produces the milli-volt signal output. Electromechanical sensors draw zero current and use no power in their off-state.
