The DBS/LNB receivers require a unique switch that enables more than a single signal path to be on at a time, allowing multiple users to watch different direct broadcast satellite channels on different TVs simultaneously. Skyworks’ SKY13272 matrix switch performs this function. In addition to the SKY13272, which is controlled using only four GPIO control lines, there are many other Skyworks switch products available that decode DiSEqC tone and voltage control signals to connect the proper satellite signal to the set top boxes in the user’s premises.
