The Si512xx family offers a very compelling value proposition to applications that require a small form factor, extremely low power consumption and BOM consolidation. It is an excellent fit for high-volume, consumer electronic products such as portable media players, portable navigation devices, digital cameras, camcorders and other portable/mobile handled devices where minimal power consumption and space constraints are fundamentally important to the product success. The family also is ideal for high volume, low-power embedded applications. The Si512xx clocks are excellent candidates for replacement of sub-200 MHz LVCMOS oscillators in graphic cards, CPU modules, printers and other office equipment. All the applications shown here typically require a high level of integration with two to three external clock sources. Today, these timing requirements are implemented in two to four discrete ICs. The Si521xx family can replace these crystals and oscillators with a single device, lowering BOM cost, simplifying the supply chain and reducing board space and power requirements.
